The task of identifying any person who is found dead falls to the investigations sections of the Franklin County Coroner's Office. Immediate response is made by forensic technicians and law enforcement to initiate identification. Initial presumptive information may lead to the identity of the decedent. Available fingerprints along with dental and medical documentation of unique identifying anatomical features are beneficial characteristics. Returning unidentified individuals to their loved ones is priority and it is a continuous process.
The Franklin County Coroner's Office is seeking help in identifying the remains of a white male found in the Scioto River on March 30, 2006. It is estimated that this gentleman died sometime prior to December of 2005. This gentleman had brown hair. Estimates put his height between 5'5 1/2" and 6'0" and age between 30 – 50 years old. Weight is undetermined, but is estimated to be in excess of 100 pounds. Distinguishing characteristics include poor dental hygiene, a poorly healed fracture of the right cheek, and an old healed fracture of the right clavicle (collarbone). He was wearing Converse brand socks.

The Franklin County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of an unidentified adult male recovered from the Scioto River in the immediate area just off of State Route 33, Columbus, Ohio, near the City of Columbus Dublin Road Water Treatment Facility. A precise time of death remains undetermined. However, the unidentified adult male was found on May 30, 2007. The individual is believed to have been dead for an extended time period, possibly several weeks.
Distinguishing marks: One inch healed scar on the right side of his forehead near the hairline, no dental work completed, front teeth appear to overlap, no tattoos, no signs of any previous surgeries. His nose appears to be crooked, possibly from a previous injury.
Clothing: One gray button-up long sleeve shirt, women's size 8 tan pants, and one brown shoe with the brand name
